I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:

I remember copying my favorite artists when I was coming up. And, I probably would have posted it without thinking about it being disrespectful. But, I stopped tracing waayyy before the web and social networks like FaceBook an DA. :-) I guess I need to give a BIG apology to Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane for my 1989- 1992 portfolio. :ashamed:

The pages were took down before I could see it. So I dont have the whole story.

Did he post your art and call it his own, or did he draw/ trace it straight from your drawing, changing elements as he went? Is he making money off of his tracings?

I've never had anyone like my work enough to trace it. I guess it would suck? :invisible:

he's re-drawn my stuff, changing nothing, and calling it his own. I don't think he made money on it, BTW I think this is a bad behaviour anyway.

I guess looking at it as an amateur liking your work enough to want to draw like you is something you wouldnt consider. You call it bad behavior I call it an amateur wanting to draw like you. And why wouldnt he like it? You're awesome at it!

Well, I can accept this, but only if he gives me credit for those images. The problem is that he was pretending he was the real author of those images. THAT is the bad behaviour. Taking inspiration from other artists isn't a bad beahviour of course, everyone does it. But there's the good way, and there's the bad way; he definitely choosed this second option.
